The public comment period to the US Forest Service ANPRM concluded on 7/20/2023. Over half a million people weighed in on this process from every age group and every corner of the country to call for a lasting, durable rule that would protect mature and old-growth trees and forests from logging as a cornerstone of U.S. climate policy.
We are grateful for the overwhelming public support. Thank you to everyone who raised their voice in support of our forests, climate, wildlife, watersheds, and future generations.
HERE'S HOW ELSE YOU CAN HELP:
Email the White House and urge President Biden to consider the 500,000+ people who called on the Forest Service to protect mature and old-growth forests from logging and urge the agency to move swiftly to finalize a new national rule. Include a personal message to show why this issue is important to you.
RSVP to the US Forest Service Public Engagement Meeting scheduled for July 24th 2pm EST and ask hard questions about how the agency plans to address the threat of logging so that we can drive home the message that logging is the single greatest - and most easily preventable - threat to mature and old-growth forests managed by the USFS.
